I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
